Our Mission

Stroudsburg Alliance Church is a local expression of a Christ-centered community living out the Great Commission daily.
Stroudsburg Alliance Church is a small church with a BIG heart

Welcome to the Stroudsburg Alliance Church Community

We are so glad you’re here! We want to do our absolute best to answer your question regarding our local expression. Stroudsburg Alliance is an affiliate member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance and serves proudly and lovingly our community in the Poconos.

Stroudsburg Alliance Church has a long history in the city of Stroudsburg. This church was founded over 100 years ago by Rev. William F. Johnson. Rev. Johnson was a freed slave from a plantation in Richmond Virginia at the age of 14.

We are a revitalizing and small community with a great desire to see people fall in love with Jesus. As we grow within our local expression as well as our presence and impact in our community, we welcome you to join us.

We encourage you to check out one of our weekend services, where you’ll see the mission and values of Stroudsburg Alliance Church on display. God is moving in our church community, awakening people to His love and calling them to action. We’d love for you to be part of it!

What We Value

BELONGING

Christ coming into our world, lived the perfect life (without sin) and upon His death & resurrection and a number of amazing happened. He made a way for all of us to be included. Jesus took what some considered to be exclusive and made it inclusive. We want you to come as you are and believe that you belong here! [Romans 5:8]

SERVING TOGETHER

The church is more than the things that happen in a building, but a vivid and living representation of Christ in and within the community. As Christ’s representatives in Stroudsburg, we will serve our city with honor. [John 12:26]

RELATIONAL GRACE

Diversity comes with a number of challenges, but we are commanded to love one another. It may hard to do at times, but if we can accept that Christ loves us knowing everything about us, we too extend the same grace given to us to others. [Luke 12:48]

GRATEFUL GENEROSITY

We believe that Generosity is not a matter of how much money you give, but the poster of our hearts as we give our time, treasures, and yes, our treasures (money). Nothing we have truly belongs to us, when we respond with generosity, we testify to others about the one who has been generous to us. [Deuteronomy 15:10]

COMMUNITY

We strongly believe that strength, growth, and support are found through community. When we look at the start of the church through the lens of the first group of gatherers we discover two great elements that made the church grew rapidly. First, it was the presence and power of the Holy Spirit and the second was the devotion of the believers to growth which happened in the community. [Acts 2:43-47]
